Electric Fan Conversion

Electric Fan Conversion
I am in the process of adding air to my 78 F250 Custom, 400 with comp cam, edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 1406 carb, and headman long tube heaters. One of the things I am doing is switching to an electric fan to help. I purchased from LMC the 16 inch full fan kit but was wondering if I should have gone with the dual 2x12 inch fan setup.
Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated. I will take man photos during the AC process because I am also taking care of all the body work to boot.
Thanks

Shouldda looked here first and gotten opinions. LMC is typically overpriced compared to other vendors. But hey, sometimes they are the only game in town.

Is it the same as the Mark VIII fan? Heck no.. the Lincoln fan will suck a cat flat to the grill. Plus it is two-speeds and has huge blades.
The most benefit gained from the fan you have will be to install it in some sort of shroud. If ya mount it on its own, the effective area is really small and the rest of the fan isn't doing any real cooling unless yer at speed.
Here's a Mark VIII fan mounted to an FE radiator. See how much area the shroud covers?:

That Lincoln fan is incredible. It's way better than any aftermarket one I've used but I've only used about 3 of those, none of which are the one you mentioned.
I'd have one installed right now if I had the room for it, but I went full retard on an engine swap and didnt QUITE have the space, even if I'd have gone through the effort of trimming the shroud.
I dont doubt that the high speed is way more than these vehicles would ever need with a well functioning cooling system. The cat comment is probably accurate. I know for a fact that the high speed would hold my had stuck to the radiator if I put it there.
Stupid radiator fan tricks.
It's dirt cheap too and looks really cool.

Yuuup. Assuming it works.
However, hunt your local yards for one. I got mine for $35. That seller is charging $25 just to ship it..... Understandable if ya live out in the sticks. I recall reading CarCraft a couple of years ago and new fans were going for like $75. Check into that before plunking down money on a used one.
You'll still need a way to engage the low and high speeds. Contact Hollister Road Co (linked above) for their sensors and wiring kit.
Alternatively, some have used the sensors and two-speed fan relay off a Volvo. That can be really low buck.
EDIT: That ad is only for the fan and plug.. the solenoids and wiring don't come with the package.
