Should I hold out for a 15 due to order delay?

Hi guys, just talking to my dealer regarding my order for a 2014 f350. They state still no allocation spot, poss due to holidays. They also state no problem if I want to cancel and wait for a 15. Im heading to Florida mid March and now I'm getting worried it wont be in on time. Plus I'm wondering if maybe I should wait for the next gen 6.7. However, I'm getting over 10k in incentives right now, plus a good $$ for my trade, 04 Duramax. Do you think it will cost me more to wait and order a 15 next fall??? Thanks for any advice. Just can't make up my mind!!!!

I would wait but that depends on your truck. The last thing you want is a major repair on your old truck

Get it locked in brother! One thing that hasn't been discussed is that if ALL of the Super Duties are going to get the upgrades, or just the 450 and above. Also, with that many incentives, I would get the 2014 truck. Just me though. Let us know which way you go though!

I know I'm the minority with this, but I think the better deal will be on the 14, also there isn't enough changes for me, a couple motor tweaks, but really the same truck. I'm excited for the changes, but until the entire truck is remade I'm happy with the current motor. Just my opinion of course.

I agree, the 2014 sounds like your best deal. When the 15's come out there won't be any incentives and who knows what could happen to your duramax while waiting. Carpe Truckum.

Have you asked your dealer to use their locator service to see if they can't simply locate a truck sitting on another dealers lot that matches what you are looking for? There may be a near exact match sitting only 100 miles away that they could dealer trade for.

I also like to get a good deal so I'd see if the 2014 happens but I understand why 2015 is important to some. More power is always nice.

Why not another D-Max? Have you had yours since new?

Yes I have and it's been a great truck. Life's short and I love the look of the Ford, plus I've heard good things about it. Just don't know if I should jump now or wait a year. I don't care about more power, I'm just wondering if the new changes will make it more reliable. I would like to keep it for 10 yrs, like my Duramax.

If money and incentives are no object, go for a 2015 ... the production starts up March 17, 2014 according to Donlen's production schedule. If money and incentives are important, consider shopping for a 2014 when the 2015's start hitting the dealerships. There are good deals on 2014's out there now, but, Ford isn't offering their 1.9% at 72 mos. which is what I got with my 2013 last October. When they offer it again, I may try for a 2014 F350 Platinum.

If you want to see what other dealers have and search for something specific, use ... Search Inventory - 2014 Super Duty

I don't think any of the changes they have lined up will make it more reliable.

One nice thing is the exhaust brake on the '15s. I personally would wait at least until the '15s come out. As you can decide then if its worth spending the extra money for one. If not, you should be able to get a smoking deal on a '14 at that time.

I think you are making a wise choice J.
I had every intention of running with another D-Max from my previous '05.
...and then I drove the 'Duty.
It was really hard to get over it at first, but that all went away in about 5 minutes

Catch the '14, they will still be making changes after the 2015, keeps us all coming back for more!
