I agree. I believe I will end up going with a chrome cover on the 8.8. Got off work early today so decided to go ahead and remove the Dana 44 and rear suspension. Got all that handled rather easy. Place 8.8 in position and lined up. Now just waiting to order the 4 link, IFS kit, boxing plates, new side cab mounts and should have frame basically taken care of so I can strip and paint. I am very glad to be DONE with all the deconstruction and moving forward with getting the truck completed. Thanks so much I am hoping to have all suspension and frame work done by end of March. As long business keeps going good as it has, I might be able to get the motor ordered by 1st of June.

Well, business has been busy so haven't had much time to work on truck or on my posts. I freed some time up and have gotten some work done. Got front and rear boxing plates welded in, pressure washed frame, painted with POR15 then painted entire frame with ceramic frame paint from eastwood. Turned out great. I know I will have to grind off and redo the front once front IFS is in. I have ordered TCI rear four link and should ship tuesday. I ordered all the new gas tank and parts for it today also ordered new 12v sending unit and chrome diff cover for the rear. Here are some pictures.

Looks like yer pinion angle may be a bit off.

Really though Bud it is looking great. Every little bit helps.
That's one more thing off the list and that much closer
to it's maiden voyage. Keep the pics coming as some of
us truckers don't read very well.

If at all

Thumbs up Por 15

That "POR 15" goes on well and saves you any hassles with Rust... Pricey $$$ but I Like, you can't go wrong with it.....

Well....I am getting to know the UPS man by name. I received my new gas tank from LMC with all new hardware, straps, insulators, and polished splash shields. I received my roll of stainless fuel line, bender, flaring tool, and fittings. I have gotten the 12v sending unit. I have also gotten the new chrome differential cover for the 8.8.

TODAY.....I got the TCI 4 link. I had to work till around four so spend a few hours tonight and was able to mount the frame brackets and shave the rear end brackets to a good fit. Tomorrow I will get it all welded in and hopefully sitting on it own rear suspension.

GETTING EXCITED!!!!!!

Very nice build you have there. Things are progressing at a good rate and I, like everyone, enjoy the pics of the progress. Good Luck!

Well worked on this on saturday and sunday to get it all mocked up and fitted. I then took everything apart primed, painted and installed. I would like to thank my wife for giving me the garage for the week. But we are totally pleased with the final result.
