74 4X4 Exchange running gear with 76

As the title says , I just purchased a 74 F250 4X4 with the intention of replacing my 76 F250 Camper edition 2X4 running gear. I want to make my 76 into a 4X4 and I would like to know if anyone has done this before and what if any problems were encountered?
I realize there will be mounting issues because the 76 was a 2 w d but small things can be overcome.

Any help will be appreciated.

The frames are different on a 2wd to a 4wd. Best way to do do the swap; is to put your 76 2wd body on the 4wd frame.

I wonder if a newer 4x4 frame would fit my mounts? Something like a 97?

Anything newer than 1977 and you will need to build mounts. 77-79 there is a length change in the frame, after that they are very different.
Sense the 74 frame is bad, maybe able to use the parts off it, like the cross members that are needed for the four wheel drive to fit on the frame.

I am anticipating having to do Mods on the 76 frame to fit the running gear from the 74. And if push comes to shove I will make the cross members I need, ( I am an aircraft structures tech with the airforce) looking forward to doing this build/ swap. I have plans on mounting a plow on the front end of this for the winter.guts and glory I them old trucks. I love em.
