Trailer brake/turn output not working?

So I'm in the middle of a trip with a 20' trailer and my lemon of a truck has decided my trailer doesn't need brake or turn signals.

Before someone says its the trailer, its not. With engine running my fluke shows no voltage at the proper pins on the 4 or 7 pin plugs. Running lights and trailer brakes work fine too.

Relays and fuses test fine. I don't want to take the time to run this POS to the dealer. Anyone seen something like this before?

for me it was either a bad connection at the 7pin (dirty contacts) or a blown fuse.

mostly bad connection

when I bought this truck (used) in August, neither the trailer lights nor signals worked. both fuses were blown

If fuses are good then check the 7 pin connection at the rear of the truck. Loose/bad connections.

I take it that the trailer works with other trucks?

Do the turn signals work on the truck?

Just guessing, I don’t have the information with me. But pin 7 should be for the reverse lights? Pin 4 should be for the trailer battery charge.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Both signal lights should be powered by Fuse (F100). The brake is Pin 2; the TBC won’t apply voltage to that wire if it doesn’t sense a trailer is connected to it. Nor should the TBC give an output if the truck is not moving, I believe over 5 MPH. <o></o>
I don’t know if you were checking the right fuses for the trailer signal lights. And as far as the TBC, how do you know the brakes were not working? Did try moving the manual override lever when the trailer was hooked up?

Your "POS" truck has a fuse and relay for just about every electric circuit in the vehicle.
Including separate relays and fuses for each side of the trailer lights.

That would be a start.

The tbc will energize the brakes at a stand still, when on a steep hill, my truck activates the hill start assist, the gain goes to full deflection until you give enough gas to get rolling.
