there was a TSB for exhaust drone, and the possible fix was an added bracket for the pedestal.... that in his pic is what that is...

6.0 Moan/Droan Between 1500-2000 RPM:
Engineering has investigated this condition and found the cause to be engine firing pulses causing the turbo mounts to vibrate/resonate. For trucks built through 9-29-03 install a revised turbo pedestal, P/N 3C3Z-6N639-BA. Trucks built after 9-29-03, install a turbo bracket A-brace, P/N 5C3Z-6N639-BA. If the draon is still present after installing the brace on trucks built from 9-30-03 through 1-17-05, replace the turbo pedestal with 5C3Z-6N639-AA. Ensure the droan is not caused by a bound exhaust system. Inspect for any damaged or broken exhaust hangers. Check the turbo downpipe by loosening the pipe at the top and bottom, checking its alignment and retightening. If the droan is still present, check the part number embossed on the turbo pedestal just below the turbo compressor outlet to the intercooler. If the number IS NOT 1846207C1, replace the pedestal with the above part. After replacement, or if the number IS 1846207C1, loosen the turbo inlet pipes and EGR cooler flange and neutralize by installing the components in this order: snug the flange between the LH and RH inlet pipes; torque the EGR cooler clamp to 53 in/lbs; torque the pedestal bolts to 23 ft/lbs; torque the turbo inlet clamp to 9 ft/lbs: snug the inlet pipes to manifolds. Ensure all components are properly aligned. Torque the flange between the LH and RH inlet pipes to 20 ft/lbs and the inlet pipes to the manifolds to 20 ft/lbs. I have seen the 2 part pedestal on Ebay a few times. I was thinking that
maybe it had something to do wit hE-series installations. But I guess
not from that TSB info.

Wow! Thanks for info!
Makes sense now. I bought this truck in 05 from Ford. It's a Ford buy back "lemon" They probably threw a lot of parts at it trying to make previous owner happy. Official reasoning for "buy back" was a drive line vibration that couldn't be resolved. Never felt it till 100k miles later and I think it's a u-joint going bad.

Could of been the other person was being over picky.

If you are looking for a problem that you have in you head
you going to find one even if it does not exist.

Also could of been load and roads. I get some funny noise
on some of the freeways here do to the condition of the pavement.
Damm studded tires anyway.

Yeah, over picky guy? guess I should of mentioned that from what I remember reading on the report he had like 3 egr valves, 2 turbo's, numerous other stuff before I got it. Then finally the drive-line issue. All under 16k miles from new. Think I would of tried the lemon route too..haha
So my hunch was right, I do have a special OEM turbo pedestal!! (that requires 17mm swivel), have to remember that when I unload this pos! jk...love this 6.0 power plant!

Might need a set of wheelie bars to keep it from going
Oh-My-God-Over once the turbo is spooled up.

Dom if you find that please post the link.
