First law of vehicle modification:
Every 'unique" modification will require be at least 6 more. Each will be more complex and costly than the last.

Second law:
Soon the progression will often come a point where there is no solution, which will bring clarity why the first modification is not often attempted.

Third law:
When reinventing the wheel there is a high risk of running over one's own foot.

well i guess no one on the board has ever taken one of these columns a part.
maybe l should post some pics, not much stuff inside the column.this will be very easy to shorten.

AX, thanks for that incite .l kind of feel like Christopher Columbus on his maiden voyage .
l sure do respect your knowledge, but maybe its time to take the blinders off and support some new ideas, not that this is new or even my idea, like were would we be if nobody ever tried the MII or the CV,dodge what ever.i mean i just dont get it.anyway thanks for your help and i do mean that,i just dont always get were you are coming from.

The outer tube comes off the column, but the inner shaft is one piece. You have to take the steering box apart to get it out. Or cut it and weld it back together, which I do not suggest you do.
