Looking forward to aluminum myself.
I am afraid of the aluminum, think of screen doors, when you have dislike metals, it just isn't good...

Think of aluminum ladders. They aren't painted like a vehicle will be, but we all know that if it has a bare spot (like a ladder) it gets corroded and all over your hands, etc. But I have yet to see aluminum become from oxidizing like steel does from rust.

Keep in mind what I work on all day, been dealing with aluminum intensive vehicles for a long time without issue. Even if Ford pinches a few too many pennies doing it, I can't see it being worse than steel from a corrosion perspective.

My plant is the place that coats and cleans most of the coils of steel and aluminum used for automotive parts.

Aluminum ladders with weld joints, and aluminum rivets, an old screen door, with steel screw starts electrolisis. The aluminum eats away around the screw. Not saying it won't work, I would just like to watch for a bit before I get on the bandwagon.

Chad, didn't even think about the toys you play with. I should have asked you before I started be concerned.

Keep in mind too every nut, bolt and screw are scrutinized at the automotive level. The biggest inconvenience I see is aluminum doesn't PDR well, but due to the fact aluminum needs to be thicker, it doesn't ding as badly.

I hate that as well ran into that issue yesterday.

Looks like a weekend with the dogs, Caitlin went north for a job interview and I decided to stick around here and work on the truck and yard.

Off to Birmingham next week.
