Jimmy's on a roll today.......

It would seem much more productive to just replace with another Y pipe. That is definitely a place I wouldn't want to have to get to multiple times.

Why? Do you have to set your beer down to get at them or something?

I may have to add the Sinister Y pipe to my list of wants for the truck, I see they even have a nice set of exhaust manifolds available as an upgrade to the factory ones.

HAHA, yeah, I guess having your truck in proper working condition makes you in a good mood.

I got tired of going in there after the second time. First time, fine...second time 6 months later, OK, this sucks and I need a more permanent repair.

The original pipe lasted 215K miles and started with a very small leak, so I bought a new OEM pipe and had it installed when the studs were done. Less than six months later, the flex blew out on the new pipe and squealed at idle. I started looking for options after I re-installed the original pipe, I was not going to buy another OEM pipe.

I like that too, but not for $500...on sale.

Josh's repair was $125.

yep. it is. But pricy too. $522 for the manifolds, $499 for the Y, then gaskets bolts and seals. Also while the turbo is off it would be a good time to clean up and do any maintenance needed on that, then there is the oil pipe to the turbo, that may as well get done too.
