So true Chad. Right now she's looking at the interest paid over 30 years on 150k versus 200k. It's astronomical how much more it will cost, but that's what it takes to live good in TC.

Is moving 20-30 minutes outside of TC helpful? The few other people I know in the area don't live in TC....

Yes it does Chad that is why we are looking outside of TC. I think Torr already bought the property though.

You never want to look at total interest paid. That will always change depending on how much more you pay on the principal, besides it's able to be claimed on taxes anyway.......

Yep, property is paid for. So are the prints, perk test, survey and taxes. 1900 Sq ft house with 24x38 garage is 200k.

That's what I was thinking...

Tara is concerned about getting in over our heads with her taking a huge paycut and my job being uncertain.
I'm a huge risk taker, so no big deal to me.

Perk test? Sounds like something a young Mike & Rich would try at the bar.

Risk taking is good Torr, but sometimes you have to step back a little although it seems like you have it pretty well worked out.

Stopped by Harbor Freight on the way home from work today, bought me some Man Stands. 12-ton jack stands for my axle swap this weekend (or so I hope.)
Also I wish y'all a good Turkey day, the one day America celebrates that is purely about over eating.

What areas are you looking in Andrew? Are you looking to buy immediately or rent for a while?

We need to sell our house first then we will be looking to buy immediately or we will end up living with my mother in law or over at the house in Elk Rapids.

We are looking anywhere from Lake Ann to Fife Lake
