South Dakota's January 2014 Chat/BS Thread

Good morning South Dakota and visiting aliens! Wow, got a heat wave going on here now... all the way up to 4 already, and supposed to make it to +18.
What a hassle getting home yesterday. Finally landed in Sioux Falls, then had to wait over an hour and fight with a *itchy airline agent to get my luggage that arrived on Sunday. Jerks. Complaints have been filed, although I'm sure nothing will come of it. The only thing airlines do well is take your money, everything else sucks.

I was in Nashville for the weekend... they had me scheduled to fly back home through Chicago which was still a mess from the snow storms last week. Cancelled that and rerouted me to DFW, like they did with a zillion other people... most of the flights were oversold, so they had more people than seats to put them in. Airlines have cut their capacity so much, anytime there is weather, it takes a week to finally get everyone to their destination. Guess I'm lucky it only took me an extra day.

LOL Yeah, I got great timing. But, I ended up with a couple flight vouchers since I volunteered to give up my seat. The only problem is I gotta use them for another ticket on American Airlines and I was so-not-impressed with some of their idiot airport employees around here.
My kids and their mom got lucky, they made it through Chicago on Saturday with only an extra hour sitting on a plane. I saw that Southwest held a whole bunch of people on a lot of airplanes for over 4 hours... and they'll get hefty fines from the FAA for breaking the delay rules.
