Thanks Brad. I'm going to town thursday and I was going to get some then. There is a small "v" cut in the rotors for the studs to go in originally, but there is a more solid hole under that (if you know what I mean). About half of the rotor hole has the v in it, the other half is just a hole. I was thinking a guy would be ok with a fairly normal bolt means that the v is only half way through the hole.

I worked on the body bushings today. Man, that sucked. I ended up cutting them all apart, only way they were coming apart.

I have a question. I put new poly mounts in, but don't have a complete solid bushing inside like the stock rubbers. The way I cut them is pushed up from the nut on the bottom with a jack and socket, then cut them in half above the frame mount. Except for the drivers side rear. That was terrible. It is by the fuel tank, so I moved the box back and cut the living crap out of that one to get it out. So I have most of the sleeve in the rest, but not all in there. I don't have anything mounted permanently yet, its just sitting on the new bushings. Is it necessary to have that complete metal sleeve inside the poly bushing? I can't see it being necessary, but thought I'd ask. I used the upper washer with the sleeve on it till where I cut it.

The only real bad one was the passengers side rear one. It raised up about 3/4 of an inch. The body line was way off on the box, but now is just about right.

Nope. I started with the drivers side rear which was beside the fuel tank so it wouldn't have worked without moving the tank, and that wasn't going to happen. After fighting with that and getting nowhere for a while, I did the other rear one. I tried the chain and all I got done was lift the truck off the floor.

I then said pi$$ on it and cut them off..

Those body mounts can be a huge PIA sometimes. I've had to cut them out before too.

Did you worry about the metal sleeve when you put the new ones in Bill? I just don't see it being necessary with the poly, maybe it is? Like I said, I used most of it with the top washer, but it got cut and using new bolts.

I've never installed poly body mounts before, but I think you would be ok without it. It is actually a two piece deal, one slides inside the other, I guess so the rubber mounts can give a little.

Good point. Originally they were made like that. Over time just seized into one. I think they will be ok too, I'm running with it.

I don't know how far you actually lifted the truck but I lifted mine until the wheels also came off the ground on the side I was working on. Pretty amazing how tight a flared two piece sleeve can hold together that strong. The directions say to grind that flare off when putting them back together so what was the point of the flare in the first place?

So theres a metal piece on top and on bottom with the threaded part the bolt attaches from the top in the bottom?
The chain or puller is pulling the lower part out of the upper? Im trying too wrap my head around this....if i ever get my bushings in...my buddy is killing me on these things..

The metal piece on top has a sleeve like pipe that meets one from the bottom and they squeeze together and a flare keeps them together. The bottom has the threads and the bolt goes in from the top. The bottom piece is a big flat like washer with a 'pipe' attached to it with threads. You remove the bolt from the top, then thread it into the bottom thru chain links, if you do this method of removal. The chain is looped under the floor jack so when you jack up on the frame it pulls on the bottom piece. The two flared pieces that meet in the middle from the top and bottom and fit together really tight. I could not believe how much I had to jack up the pickup before they let loose. It was like a gun going off, LOL As far as the rear fuel tank, loosen the strap in the front and remove the one in the rear to swing it out of the way a little. I used a racket strap to hold it up and out of the way. The fuel tank connections on top do not have to be unhooked.

Glenn, I lifted the truck way off the ground and let it sit there. I sprayed PB in there, beat on it, etc., and had no luck. Finally said screw it and cut them all out. Didn't even try it on the middle ones. Front bolts broke loosening them. I didn't want to mess with the fuel tank strap, so I slid my box back (not mounted yet) and got at it from the top. I was able to pry the thick rubber part up and cut underneath it.
