My friends in high school called my '96 Great White. I call our '07 Fusion "The Little Blue Sleigh" because it slides around on the snow so bad. My '97 PSD does not have a name yet.

For some reason, I never posted so I was getting updates from your thread. I just had a chance to get caught up this morning. The dually 4WD EC really does look sharp. I hope it performs well for you. Did I read you still had the original D50 up front? If so, I'm curious how that rides when you get the truck on the road.

Thanks Nick! Yes, I still have the original D50. I'll be plugging away at the truck today again. I'll be sure to post up how it all works when I'm done and putting it to use.

The truck is looking good Darin. I have always thaught that an excab 4X4 dually would be neat. For what it's worth check your rims for the Acuride number on them. The 4X4 rim should be a 29316, the 4X2 will have 29315. the 4X2 rim will work, but the off set is shallower, and the stock 235/85-16 will be close to touching with the 4X2 rims.

Good info Tom! I tried to rep you. I must have 4x4 rims then, because I have 235/85 tires on mine and there is at least 1 1/2" between the tires on the duals. I wonder if 265/75s would work without spacers?

Thanks for trying Bill. My Ebay special has a miss match of rims on it. One side has the 29316 rims on it, and has about 1 1/2-2 inches between the tires. the other side ther is only about 1/2-3/4 inch between the tires, and the outer rim is the 29315. I never thaught to look for the number on the inner rim when it was off.

I'd like to go to 265s when it's time to buy tires, but I don't want to use spacers. By looking at space between my 235/85s, I think 265/75s may work without spacers between the wheels, but I don't want to buy 265 tires without knowing for sure.

My wheels came off a 4x2 truck, so they must be the 29315's. Good info Tom. Thanks for the comments too!

Bill, if you only have 1 1/2 inches now, I don't think you will have enough for the 265's without spacers. You may make it with a 1/4 inch spacer, but it will be pretty tight, especially with a load on. I think the 265's are about 1 1/2 inches wider than the 235's. So that would be 3/4 more on each side and put you touching without spacers. The stock 215's that were on these wheels are 2 inches narrower than the 265's. The tires on mine now where the tread ends sits straight down from the edge of the fender, so the sidewall does stick outside of it a little bit. As you know, this is with 2 inch spacers, and 1 1/2 inches between the tires. I don't know how much I like that, but its sure not a deal breaker.

I got the body and box mounted, rear visor back on and remounted the step bars this morning. I put the plastic liner back in it for now that came with it too. It's in good shape, the inside of the box looks almost like new, it covers up the different color red, so it went back in.

After dinner I needed to put a fuel pump on my 76, it was leaking almost a steady stream of gas out the weephole. Figured I'd change the oil too. Put the new pump on, fired it up, and it died. Messed with it for a while, switched lines around, removed it, inspected, and reinstalled with no luck. 20 minute fuel pump job took 3 hours and the truck's still sitting in the shop. I think I made up a few new cuss words, I was getting so frustrated. Had a good morning working on the red truck, then after dinner went to he!! in a handbasket, all over a flippin fuel pump. I happen to have an inline electric pump from a demolition car I built once, and a fuel pump block off plate on a motor in the shop. So, tomorrow, screw that 26 dollar napa pump.

I went through the same thing on a '76 F700 dump truck I had. Finally went and got an electric in line pump too. I was ready to burn that SOB to the ground....and that was the day I brought it home! LOL!!!
