2000 F350 4X4 Automatic Transmission : 4x4 Trunnion Shaft?
I have a 2000 F350 4x4 with a V10 and auto transmission. My 4wd makes noise and the mechanic says my trunnion is worn out. He says it's sort of a spherical connection like a CV joint I imagine, and it goes from the auto trans to the transfer case. He says:
1) He can rebuild mine at a machine shop
2) He can replace with a new one
3) He can install a used one
I am having trouble finding it. One place will not separate the transmission. The other place has only manual transmissions. What can, or should I do, and does anyone know the costs?

I can't understand why he is calling it a trunnion. No one has heard that so far.
