Stupid driving lights! or stupid smart truck!

OK - asked for set of factory driving lights on an 08 f350 diesel xlt- did NOT come with lights factory....

- installed lights (bought of ebay)
- got a 9005 plug at Pep Boys - wired all together - heat shrinked whole 9 yards
- took off head light - determined outside is low, middle is ground and inside is high....
- wired to ground and low beam side
- turn on lights all was good
- start truck, lights came on went off
- blown fuse, went to a 15 amp
- not light come on and go off
- went to dash, select from auto to off then to on, come on go off, switch back to off to auto or on and they come on and go off
- flopped wiring thinking o got a positive neg messed up made no diffenerece

My theory was wiring them into the low beam side would make them work in parallel to the low beams and they will be off whan on high beam- what in the blank am i missing?

I don't have the wiring for your year. But I think you should
use a relay and fuse for the extra lighting.

Also make sure that your ground is ground all the time.
There a few times where what you think is ground will go hot.
That is how they turn the fog lights off on the 06.

I think your going to find trying to run four lights on a circuit meant for two and some cases vehicles are fused separately for each left and right. You do really need to just us your tap to the low beam for a trigger and run a relay and separate fuse for the fogs. Yes it's a little more work but it will be a dependable setup.

Yep, you're overloading the circuit, do the relays like mentioned.
