I installed new up pipes a few months ago. since I did that, I have a tick at higher rpms. I've been avoiding it, thinking it was and exhaust leak at the up pipe collector. I finally got around to checking it, and it's not dirty, no soot around it. Anyone know what this might be? I had lots of parts off around the turbo, but not the turbo itself, I had from the "shell" to the downpipe off and the Y pipe that goes to the plenums(they are wet with oil now). Any ideas would help. Thanks

 

Check where the manifolds bolt to the heads. Maybe you developed a different leak.

 

thanks, I'll look there, I did loosen the drivers side manifold to create some space to get that up pipe out and the new one in, but it sounds like it's up high, right behind the dash. and I couldn't make it do it by revving the engine, it has to be under load. but I'll look at all exhaust connections. thanks
