Want to change my round light to square
#2
i converted mine. the lights on 78-79 are mounted higher. i relocated the bucket assemblies higher and stayed with round lights. 73-77 and 78 round light buckets are diffferent also. some of the bolt holes are already in the radiator support but you will have to drill a few. not to hard to do. all you need are the round bezels theyre about 40 bucks each for the chrome ones from lmc. if you want square you have to buy or find the square bucket assemblies. i dont think you can buy new ones for either choice.
best way to convert is find a donor truck and get all the headlight parts hood latch and the the square brackets between the inner and outer fenders and grille shell(the top headlight bucket bolt holes are in those brackets i believe. you cant convert with just a grille shell.
i didnt have to get a different hood latch but i did have to heat up the handle with a torch and bent it to make it work correctly.
if you dont have acces to salvage your best bet is to stay with round lights and just buy new bezels and relocate your buckets. they take a little cutting/welding and bending tho.

78f250400,
I changed the radiator support on my daughters truck. I bought a 79 nose and grill assembly for my daughters 75'. I had to drill the holes into the radiator support for the 75' headlight buckets to fit. What I did was loose fit everything. I did not drill the headlight bucket holes until the grill was mounted and screwed into the headlight buckets. I then centered the buckets in the space and then marked and drilled the holes. It worked excellent. If you need the 79 buckets let me know.
