Best Engine Cleaner/Degreaser

What's your favorite cleaner/degreaser to use on our motors? And the method you prefer. Just curious cause my motor could definitely use a good cleaning after I get my oil leaks taken care of.

Also where you get it would be awesome as well.

I use Purple Power and you can get from any parts store or walmart. Simple green is another good one and you can get from the same places as purple power.

The above cleaners work well

The below links for WAB PRODUCTS is what most over road and local trucking companies use with cold water pressure washer. The results are great. Every truck stop and truck dealer sells it.

I use Gunk Engine cleaner and Simple Green. Both can be found at Walmart.

Don't you want to stay away from pressure washers near the engine/electrical connections??

I use the purple cleaners and sometimes the Gunk and follow it up with either a hot water hose or sometimes I fire up the Hotsy. I have never covered anything in the compartment on any vehicle and never had a problem, just don't dwell on electrical, vented caps, soft items, etc.., you get the idea.

some have paid the price when using pressure washers,as well as getting water in p.s. pump through the vent hole, I figured the two minutes tying the walmart sack over the components was cheap insurance,I try to learn from pain others have experienced here.

Just ask Toreador_Diesel how a pressure washer worked out for him.

Consensus on FTE has always seemed to be to cover those couple of areas, and use LOW pressure water, as in a hose with maybe your finger over the end. When you've got it down on your truck, run by my place and clean my trucks too!

I do the same, I have only ever used gunk and I usually warm the engine up a little and use hot water with the pressure washer, use common sence with the pressure washer. I do it in the spring and in the fall on all our trucks and have for years on every vehicle I have ever owned, Chevs, Fords, Peterbilts, Polaris snowmobiles & atv's, John Deere's etc. just use your head!
