I got a 95 F350 4x4 E4od trans. Found a good deal on 92 460 zf5 with Borg trans case
Clutch. Flywheel. Pedal. Master. Slave. Even floor pan cover. Worth it to swap or stay auto? Hope someone can help me out

 

Is there anything wrong with the E4OD?

It is worth the swap if you want to go manual. Also, you want to get the manual transmission ECU when you swap over. The automatic transmission ECU will not like having the E4OD not present! Nothing but codes and probably go into limp mode killing what ever MPG the 460 could give after the swap.

The swap has been done many times before and just a search(E4OD to ZF5 swap) here will bring up more info.

 

I believe it's a internal leak( valve body probs). I man shift 1 2. To OD. TO DRIVE IT. We dropped valve body to replace gaskets couple yrs ago and stabbed VB back to shell. Got it together. Then no R with same forward issues. I'm sure my "trans" master buddy got check ball or spring off causing no R Gear but I think forward prob is whorpt shell/ VB.

That's what's wrong. I just would rather go man and not have to deal with autos and their expense

 

I have never driven a 460 with an auto trans but have with the ZF5 and can tell you that there isn't a first gear unless you're pulling some major weight. I've considered going to a ZF5 with my 351 if the E4OD goes as I have a donor truck with one in it.
