New Present Coming My Way

I plan on taking my truck out of service for a week in January to do some upgrades and have started buying parts for it. One item that I have been wanting is now ordered. I'm excited and hope this works out like I have planned.

16" Stoker™ 3 x 3 Heater

I'm getting the MM-A1160005. $160 to my door.

Maybe to late to show you this and the price looks great, but FYI anyone else, ever heard of Mojave Heaters? They are a common addition to a EB (Early Bronco) back seat dept.

Flex-a-Lite Automotive Mojave Heater & Plenum

Let us know the heat outcome and your oponion on the product you got.

They look nice, but I picked this one because of the underdash hookup.

Yes I see your application and just like the Mojave its a under dash or in the back of an ext cab or the back of a Bronco application.

More than one way to skin a cat and I like your price. Tell about the heater output and its quality when installed.

Just out of curiosity is this an addition to the heater that's in there or a replacement? Wondering how long would take to thaw windshield being under the dash?

Looks to me you would still have to plumb it to the vents, i.e. defroster, floor and vents.

Oh hmm ok thought it just blasted the air out the front guess that would make more sense... I have a 73 with factory AC but the motor is out on the blower and not ready to hack the factory unit apart yet looking for other temporary fixes

1984F150SB... Longer that you would want to wait just shooting into the cab, but with a vent tube aimed in the right direction not that long I would think?

My plan is to pull out the old set-up and install the unit as the main. This will be facing upwards and two of the outlets will connect with defrost and one will be ducted as the heater. This should act as fast as the present blower. I just don't know if I stay with my 140 tstat or a 180. I will be using a different valve for the heater hose. If this idea works, I will have a cleaner look under dash, no heater controls on the dash and more room in the engine compartment.

I see Well definitely will be following as this could be an ideal interim set up for me while I save up to get the original heat/ac unit replaced. Please keep us updated !

If you are not needing a/c why not just swap in a used none ac box with a new blower motor and heater core?

You do have JY's and Craigslist in your area? http://cosprings.craigslist.org/pts/4209564864.html

Looks like that cab has what you need....

I've been watching CL and went to the c/s u pull and pay yesterday they have a full non ac heat set up there is well... I haven't decided yet if I want to do a refurb or a full resto..So trying to keep options open. The other issue being that right now the truck is my DD so projects need to be kept with a minimum of down time and this seems like a pretty straight forward plu and play if you will . I already have the panel duct work for the AC ( my 73 was a ranger model from the factory ) and think eventually would be nice to go back to it. For $160 though this might be a good way to get some heat

If you do change to a none a/c set up with a OEM box I believe you will need the none a/c environmental control cables also.

But for that price for heat out there in the Springs now, it sounds like a deal.

I believe you are correct. Since it can't decide if it wants to be 50 above here or 5 below heat would be nice ! If I came off as Richard in my above post I apologize was not my intention your input is greatly appreciated !
