Rust Beast! Tailgate window switch

Nicknamed it the Rust Beast.
The entire bottom of the tailgate is gone. Just gone - rusted away.
The previous owner(s) used the truck as a submarine
I replaced the tailgate window motor because it was a dog & I found the wiring had been replaced.
There are 2 red wires run into the tailgate from somewhere.
The lock switch is not there - if it were - it wouldn't be plugged in.
Here is what I want to do.
I would like to install a switch on the tailgate or somewhere very close to the tailgate that will lower & raise the window.
Giving that the window goes up & down correctly using the switch up front - How would I wire in a second switch?
I can run a hot wire & a 2 pole switch to change polarity - but wont that interfere with the existing switch wireing?
How to I tap it into the motor?

I would try to find a complete tailgate at a junk yard if it were me. The circuits for the back window are complicated, having the switch in the dash providing grounds for the tailgate switch. That allows the motor to run each way from either switch. Also there is a torsion spring inside the tailgate that helps raise & lower the gate that is likely loose if that much is rusted out. If not loose now it could snap loose and break the glass when it is lowered. There is a replacement panel for the bottom of the 'gate if you can't find a better one. I think broncograveyard.com carries them, and probably LMC truck or Driven Auto Parts have them. Or you can go with big bucks and get a whole new tailgate shell.
