I am not 100% on the year or engine in it yet. I have to pull it back to my house. The owner thinks it is a 1963 C-550. I got it cheap so I wasn't too concerned. Just a little project to tinker with.
We had a 71' C-750, dad bought it as a Cab+ Chassi, was an old Lehigh propane gas truck, truck had 391, 5 + 2 speed rear, shifting the truck, was a trip,, Hit the dash for 2nd gear, hit the seat for 3rd gear and so on, about a 12-14" or so throw lol, that 391 sure ran Good!
Appears to be a '61 or '62 by the door emblem. It was the lightest GVW tilt available. Be on the look out for 1 piece 5 hole 22.5" wheels to replace those 2 piece wheels.
And...the 2 speed switch is mounted on the shift lever, has a red ****
ok....It does not have a 2 speed rear end. Also my efforts to unstick this lincoln y block have failed so it looks like I need a 7.3 turbo diesel to swap into it.

If it has a Lincoln derived Y block (302/332), it's not a C550.

Only installed in 1961/63 C700/800's.
Well it looks like a lincoln y block based on the headers and distributor. Plus the intake manifold part number came up in a search as a y block intake. BUT it does say Ford on the valve covers. I looked everywhere on the truck for a decal of some kinda that said what engine it is.
