302 to 351m swap 73 F-100 Sportsman

I have a 73 F-100 obtained w/o 302 engine. It came with a 3-spd manual transmission and related. I was given a free 1975 351 modified that was laying in tall grass for years. I got the 351 running. Has anyone ever done this swap?
I know I need a big block bell housing, different fly wheel, pressure plate etc...
are there any little road blocks I need to know about or should I sell the 351M and simply find a 302.

Thanks

Diane & Ed

Motor mount perches. Radiator should be the same. If the 351m has all the accessory brackets and such you are ahead of the game.

The perches are the same for the 302 351w and 351m and 400. I would sell the 351m and find a 351w all of the 302 stuff will bolt right in.

The bell housing is the hard part. You will need a 351m starter too.
I've been hoarding the bell housings since the 90s just because they was never common in the first place.

If you go with a 351w find one complete pre 77 or was it 76 that was the last year Ford used the larger port heads.
After that they all suck till you get to the lightning and the gt40 head.

I have a 351w from a 75 Granada in a f100 that was a blast to drive till I kept killing trannys.
No such 302 ever compared to it. Even with its little two barrel.

Definitely sell the 351m and find either a 351w or 302. the 351m will need a lot of additional stuff, whereas the small blocks will bolt in and give you equivelant or more power. pre 77 windsors have better ports, and pre 73 motors will have higher compression for more power

If you need any measurements let me know. I have a 351m and a 302 sitting side by side and a 78 f150 that had the 351m. Be glad to measure anything you need.

Thanks Everyone

Great advice and info. Thanks for the offer Moosey78. I just ran into a guy with a 73 stepside with 429 scj. He allowed me into his back yard where I encountered Ford big block land and a couple bell housings for sale. He has me convinced to go with the C6 I removed from the 'M' Right now money is an issue and the sportsman will be used to haul light antique stuff. I was going down the road in my 69 Olds with 2 1/2s of a WW2 bomber cowling 1/4 in the trunk and radial engine parts all over the interior and decided it was time for a truck!
Although I was using a magneto the 'M' was showing 65 oil pressure. Might be good enough for a while. If the C6 has any life left I think i need a different yoke.
