Duraspark Harness Connectors DIY

Duraspark Harness Connectors DIY
Just a quick FAQ. If you can't find a DS2 harness, and don't want to shell out the $$ for one from Painless, you can use their wiring diagram (free, online) and buy your own connectors. If you are like me, I needed a connector so I could get my gauges to work after my Carburetor / DUI Ignition Conversion. In any case; here is the info:
E-core coil connector,
Standard S-539 or NAPA/Echlin ICC1
Factory Canister Coil Connector,
Standard S-583 or NAPA/Echlin ICA102
Module 2 Wire connector (power),
Standard S-629
Module 4 Wire Connector (Control)
Standard S-698

I'll add to this. When hooking up DS2 into a 84 truck that had the TFI EEC4 carb. I found the 2 pin (red and white)connector of the 84's TFI harness is switched when you plugged in the DS2 plug!!
I found this out after rebuilding a wire harness for my 84 F250 300 I6. I plugged it in and verified connections, found those two are switched! Not sure if it was only this truck but something to look out for.

Interesting how Ford did that. Good to know as now I again will rewire that connector.... correctly. At least I found out before getting that harness installed!

ok here is what I found with that so called reversed set up
it IS the RIGHT way red to white , white to red they just did that for some reason or another .
if you try to reverse it (red to red etc.) it will run full 12 volts and start at the resistor (7-9 volts)
it will run white to red etc. and right
they only plug in (factory like) ONE way that is how it is supposed to be
so yeah reverse it back to reversed colors
I haven't figured out why they did it that way either , even the diagrams are that way
some with one pole on the starter solenoid mine and like 1984 and newer
and some with 2 small poles on it, 1983 and older

It was asked for these #'s and it doesn't seem there is a better place to make them easy to find.
Coil connector, NAPA EC238 (ICA102 doesn't show up in their search)
2 (3) wire connector, NAPA EC72
4 wire connector, NAPA EC127

Here is the cheapest prices I found for module and ignition coil connectors
Module connectors
Ford Clips And Fasteners
They offer the coil connector too, but it is a ten pack
Coil horseshoe connector
Automotive Electrical Connector Pigtails, Terminals, Tools and More
With shipping costs it might be cheaper to buy everything from the second link or get the module connectors from Ford Clips And Fasteners and then get the horseshoe from Napa
