Seat belt get stuck

My Sons 1977 F250 truck has 3 point retractable seat belt. The bottom retractable part keeps getting stuck. Any idea how to fix it easily.

Stuck out or stuck in?

Typically, the belt gets twisted and then inhaled and trapped by the housing. To avoid future issues, unbuckle and guide the belt into the retractor while ensuring the belt is not twisted.

If it is stuck out, ya need to pull it on it firmly so the internal cam releases the toothed gear. It can also stick if yer parked on a hill.

Good luck there mom.

It just won't come out when you pull on it. Its not twisted. It like locks on the bottom strap.

Try guiding it in slowly, all the way to the bottom, then back out slowly. If that doesn't work, the seat belt may need to be replaced. They're not meant to be taken apart. You can typically find replacement seat belts on eBay or in the junk yard (if you're okay with that); some places also redo them through the mail.

just as a "drive it until I can fix it" I cut the plastic around the base so I can stick a fingernail under the little latch that goes across the belt and then lift it and gently pull on the belt. it still latches and holds the belt..... Redneck as heck, but oh well
