Added pics to photobucket (will link here soon) of the original truck we are rebuilding. Because of the caliber of the frame, we'll only be using the cab and doors from this one after repairing the floor

Love the pictures, and awesome job by the way. You do a very meticulous job, and if you do all the engineering on your frame work I know how much work this can be.
I have a few of these vintage trucks all COE's needing restoration, but would not have the funds or time it would take to do.So I may just sell them.If this is your day job Its a great feeling getting paid to do something you must certainly love.

Chuck, what IFS was on this truck? Almost looks GM, but it doesn't appear to be clipped.

This will be a pretty heavy truck for a flathead to pull around. Is it going to be "warmed up"? Blower motor?

Albuq

Getting a stroked flathead with a 4-barrel & C-4. Couldn't talk the customer into a blower but that's OK. Easy to maintain and drive for the customer

The body is going on the TCI frame. Much quicker to have the pros engineer the suspension, and way better than the Volare front clip going away which looks welded to the stock frame with a harbor freight flux mig! The old build wasn't dangerous at least, but certainly not up to the standards we want to put out. Chris

Continuation of the build.

Added pics of the cab. The whole header was rusted through and lab metal filling up the rust Cut it all out and head to stretch a new flange and weld it in. Needs a floor and firewall as it's pretty cut up Doors and hood are off at the body shop

Nice work on the header, Chuck! Do you make the patch panels for stuff like that? If so, got a shot of your metalworking area?

Drilled out the spotwelds on the windshield flange, and used a cut off to slit near the visor holes. That leaves a good place to line up the replacement header.

The replacement one we have is a bit pitted inside but fixable The outside flange was only just starting to rot through at the roof and most of the major rust was contained to behind where the rubber seal was so for that I sheared some sheet metal to size

I used a Brake to make the "Z" Used a shrinker to make the flange curve to match a cab I had in the shop

Alb.. Actually this is Chris I'm working for Chuck on this build among others I've been putting the links up for whomever wants to watch here on FTE I have a couple metal working tools and enjoy working with them. Shear, finger brake, shrinker / stretcher, couple hand tools.

I have a couple OT projects as well as early Ford trucks going at the moment.

More work on the cab Lower cowl was poorly patched... More lab metal than weld and lots of rust

Rebuilt the entire bottoms

On to the floor next....

Floors:

Previous floor install want not too successful. Lots of booger welds and missed welding all generously slathered in RTV
