Help with F250 appraisal
Hi All…my first post here.
I am looking at buying a 1999 f250 4x4 with a 7.3 diesel. I found a regular cab xlt available with 100K miles on it for $14K. kbb doesn't have the capability to accurately appraise such a vehicle, and the closest I could get on kbb after adding in all the extras was around $7K. One of the reasons for this was that the 7.3 diesel was not an option I could choose as a parameter for the estimate.
I looked on-line and found reman'd 7.3's for anywhere from 2K to 8K so I figure I should add some $ onto the $7K as my first offer.
I know it's difficult without knowing the actual truck, but what's a good opening offer to start the negotiation?
Thanks for your thoughts!

When you were on the KBB website, you must have chosen "F250 Regular Cab"
Try again but choose "F250 Super Duty Regular Cab"
If you don't choose Super Duty, the 7.3L PSD isn't an option.

IMO 14K for a 99 seems steep to me especially for an XLT. I wouldn't pay more than $11K for it. The good thing about a 99 is it has forged rods if you are looking to chip it.
Personally I would keep looking in your local adds or even Ebay. With some patience you can find a loaded 7.3L PSD for 11K to 13K at least in my area. I realize different areas will be more or less expensive.
Just sayin.... good luck
