I've found a cheap front 2" hitch receiver!
I searched a didn't find this already posted up so I apologize if this is already common knowledge.
Anyway, just in case this mod is not generally known I thought I would share this "discovery" with the forum as I have found this place incredibly helpful during my often steep, Ford truck learning curve and it is nice to finally have something to offer other than stupid noob questions.
I needed a front 2" receiver hitch on my 1995 F350, SRW, CC, 4X4. I have a snow plow that uses this mounting system and also a basket style winch cradle that would be useful to use at times but not have permanently fitted.
In my yard I have bits and pieces of dozens of vehicles lying around that I have collected for various projects over the years. One of them is a rear hitch for a 1980's Chevy/GMC S10/S15 Blazer/Jimmy etc. made by REESE.
After a few quick measurements I decided it may fit, width wise so I removed the bumper and offered the hitch up to the front frame rails fully expecting a long battle finding a way to get this heavy SOB to fit without getting in the way of the front spring hangers or hanging down too low.
I was astonished to find not only did it fit, exactly, but also two of the four bolt holes on each side of the hitch lined up precisely with existing holes on the frame rails!
The bumper did require some cutting at the bottom edge and mounting bracket to clear the hitch when I reinstalled it but 10min with an angle grinder saw to that.
I still need to make stiffeners for the bumper bracket that go around the hitch as the portion that attaches to the lower edge of the bumper had to be cut away but for the most part this entire project took me less than 45mins. And seeing as I was doing this lying in the snow in -20* weather that was very welcome.
The junk yards are full of knackered S10's with aftermarket hitches still attached so you can easily score a cheap 2" receiver hitch yourself and bolt it to your truck for under $25 bucks.
As soon as I figure out the photo up load thing I will post up some pictures.

I guess if you had the hitch for free. But I would rather spend $160 and have it bolt on with no mods
