Default.....
Every time I step on the brakes its beeps and I get the message "trailer wire default".
Only started doing it since I did the DPF delete?
Don't see that would have anything to do with it other than they were messing with the computer?
So anyway does anyone know what it means or how to stop it?

Does it say default or just fault?
I've had a fault on one trailer. Traced it to a chaffed brake wire on the trailer. Also, check the ground wires. It isn't unusual to snag one of those wires in a field on have it get hit by road debris. Mine had chaffed on one of the holes in the frame because the manufacture hadn't really shielded the wire appropriately. Make sure the wires are shielded, wrapped, whatever to protect them in the future.

Now the stupid thing is buzzing and saying "trailer disconnected" when I don't even have a trailer hooked up.
I wonder if theres anyway to disconnect the whole brake controller and put in a old style aftermarket one?
Havnt found anyone that knows anything about these built in brake controllers.
Anyone know anyone that knows about these built in brake controllers , or any websites with info?
That thing buzzing every time I step on the brakes is driving me crazy.

Ken,
I suspect problems with the TBC have been covered more than any other topic in this forum.
Given there is no trailer, there are several possibilities. The problem could be in the controller itself or the interface between the controller and the truck electronics.
Before going down that road with a visit to the dealership, first check the plug at the back as moisture on the pins can mimic a trailers circuit, so I would make sure it is clean and cover on the plug is keeping trash out. You could even pop the back off the plug and see if things are as they should be with the connection to the plug.
Short of those steps, I am afraid a dealer is going to have to deal with that problem as there is not much you can do yourself on the controller. Not sure how modifications might affect it.
My guess is a fuse removal would quiet the warning, but I do not know which fuse. Maybe someone with the same model can chime in.
Those are my best guesses,
Steve
