I have the FX4 and the option for the 3.5 EB is much less expensive than the other F-150 models and I still went with the 5.0 even when everybody else said I was crazy or I own the ONLY FX4 with the 5.0
Did the tech take the time to specify which years had which issues and what Ford did to solve them?

I have had both. I started with 5.0 Mustang and loved it! When I traded to a 5.0 F150. I loved that truck too but needed to upgrade to a crewcab. Now im in a 2014 Eco and I will tell you if you tow the Eco will out pull a 5.0 I pull a RV and the ECO pulls like alot like my F350. The mpg is similar but the ECO does have a slight edge of 1-2 mpg on the highway. Around town driving the 5.0 was slightly better. The ECO is thirsty when the turbos spool up. All in all I think they are both awesome engines. My buddy has a 5.0 and I asked if wanted to race. He said nope my tuned eco would win but his 5.0 would sound like he was winning!

Interesting; how it SOUNDS vs how it IS. Too bad he can't win a race by noise.

In that case I would go with the ecoboost, since it CAN be operated in a more efficient zone when power is not needed, and still be able to produce power when needed.

Do I need to go down to my local ford dealer and by one? Will the same transmission work or will i need to purchase one of those too. Any information would be great.

Thanks
Lots of extreme detail wiring to the "body/cowl" harness....(the terminal/connector), Yes tranny must be changed...v6 has different bolt pattern. Exhaust down pipe/cats mod.
or new setup (5.0 or 5.4).
