engine id help

My 55c600 has a z in the vin no. meaning its a 256 but how do I know if its the original motor. It still is a 6volt set up, but how can I tell what size the motor is. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!

There are letters on the block, heads, intake and timing chain cover.
What are those. My 239 has EBV.

It looks like EBY looks to be 256 but I got a little confused reading those.

Hey let me look at my parts catalog.....if someone else doesn't have a good answer yet.
