Driver door doesnt shut tight when it's cold

So I live in Utah and is cold here. My door won't shut tight when it's cold outside. I have to really slam it. I HATE it when my doors are slammed. But it's the only way I can secure it. No problems with any of the other does. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Trevor

Can't see any way to adjust the latch, I'll see if I can score some weather striping.

I did the door seal mod on the front four doors of my EX. It really makes the weather striping seal better.

Watch the above You Tube video on how to do it. There should also be a few write ups on FTE to explain the process.

I had used vinyl tubing from Home Depot when I did my door seal mod instead of the surgical tube. In the summer time, it shuts easy, but in the winter time here in Southern California, I have to slam it. Not too bad, but noticeable.

I have this problem the first few times it gets below freezing. The seal mounted to the body from the windshield to the top/back of the rear door will freeze to the doors. When you open it the seal pulls free of the body [partially] and when you close the door the seal does not allow the door to close properly.
Most of the time it pulls the seal towards the rear of the truck. So start at the rear of the seal and re-install pulling the seal forward as you go. After installing the seal wipe it down with WD-40 to keep it from freezing to the door again.

Our rear passenger doors need a little extra encouragement when the temperature drops a lot (like the past week here in Colorado, basically around 0 each morning). I don't think that door seal mod will help with this issue. I think its a case of ice and snow building up around the seals and probably some harder-than-usual rubber. We don't have to SLAM them though, just a harder close than usual.

Have you noticed a build-up of ice or snow around the door when this happens?

I completed the door seal mod (with surgical tubing) in Oct of 2012. I live on a bumpy dirt road and after I completed the mod my doors stiffened up so that they stopped rattling. I'm not sure about the really cold weather since I'm in Gainesville, FL but they should last for quite a while since they are protected by the factory weather stripping.

You will notice that you have to use slightly more force to close the door but it isn't very much.
