Solutions for fabricating a taller front lip spoiler
Now that I've got 31's on this truck, the value of having a deeper front lip spoiler hanging below the bumper seems like all the better an idea from an "aero" perspective (and resulting fuel efficiency). My thought is to take the stock lip (already removed), and fasten something to it to extend it down four inches or so.
Suggestions on what to use? A low budget solution would be nice, but not without looking like too much of a hack-job solution.

Is this for looks or have you tested this areo idea in a wind tunnel. If you want to deflect air take conveyor belting & run it from front bumper to rear bumper. Laugh, We use to commute to the mines about 80 miles a day on rough, gravel, rocky, sometimes muddy & snowy roads. We would buy a cheap car with power Ex cop cars worked great, run belting under the whole bottom buy 6 ply truck tires & 5 of us would commute daily. The belting kept anything, rocks mainly, from punching holes in gas tanks, tranny pans, etc.

Any way, I might try the black garden edging - I think that typically comes in 4" height, and that's about what I'm looking for.

Interesting thought. The bottom portion of the bumper is narrower than the top, so the donor wouldn't have to be "as wide as a truck" to possibly work.

Some bigger car bumpers may be as wide as the lip or if you know someone who does fiberglass you can always widen it out. I have seen it done to make ground effects for rice rockets fit cars they aren't made for. Another thought would to be to try to attach two lips together. Maybe turn one up side down??? I may be taking the front bumper off my 95 soon and it will probably wind up on FTAGH
