are they 12V lights? where did you wire them into? or do they just plug into a cigarette lighter?

They are regular 120v strand.

What they are wired into a plug for the cig lighter (you could do it right to the battery but i didnt have any more inline fuses and I didnt want to not have a fuse in the circut)

They are a LED strand from walmart. On the label it says 3 volt bulbs. figure the truck charges at 14.some volts so I cut the strand up into smaller strands of 5 bulbs (3volts per bulb X5bulbs per mini strand =15 volts.)

then I ran the main + and - leads from the cig plug and wired each strand of 5 bulbs to the leads after checking each set on a battery to make sure I was wiring the polarity right (remember LEDs, Polarity matters, Incandescent it doesnt) then after connecting, soldered and taped up my solder joints.

I'm goin to be puttin some on my truck using my 3200 watt inverter. Christmas is my favorite time of the year!! Except the fact that I have 3 birthdays and Christmas in a month and it puts the hurtin to the check book. Lights lights and more lights. I plan on doin them tomorrow.

I bet you could run a couple strings off of one of those cigarette lighter inverters. I run 2 DVD players with one in my wife's navigator.

We got 2 birthdays this month. One of them being mine (this past Tuesday).

But you should be able to run lights on that inverter no problem. If you wanna do it the penny pincher way, you do what I did and solder lol

Unfortunately I haven't. With all the snow we've gotten lately it's been lots of playing in the snow with the kids, snow lowing and firewood moving. My truck festive-mess may have to wait until next year :-(
