1976 F-150 Super Cab 2WD 4SPD
Im starting this thread as my truck comes and goes along in its life. I am relatively new to the forums but have read quite a bit including the choke thread by fmc400 and a few others. I may get a little sentimental from time to time about my truck but Im sure im not the first nor will I be the last to do so. I dont have pics yet but will get some this week...along with lining out what I intend to do..and as things go forward with it Im sure Ill be asking for opinions and ideas as well as help.
So...my truck,
1976 F-150
Super Cab
2 wheel drive
360 V8
2 bbl stock carb
Mechanical fuel pump
Dual tanks
4 speed manual w/ granny gear
Round headlights
All but one marker light work
The only major rust is the driver's floor but its patched by the po
900# capacity Tommylift gate...it needs to go
I love the analog gauges...the long lumbering stick shift that clunks into gear. I love the wing windows too...takes me back to my childhood. I remember the floor side vents on cars and trucks from my childhood too...and nothing sounds like an old school solid steel door closing or the smell that old cars and trucks have.
Ive been working on my own cars my whole life...my first car was a 77 Pinto wagon...4 banger with a 4 speed that was sick as all hell...I reworked that car's engine and found out what a Ford 4-popper could do. I loved that little car for some odd reason. I have missed the simplicity of the old cars for years. Ive been sick of the computers, sensors and analyzer ports for way too long. I enjoy working on cars that respond well to someone caring enough to work on them. It always feels good to set out with an issue and resolve it with simple tools and repairs. And...its all American made.
Pictures soon....
