Highboy is gonna get a lift...

Been following this forum for the past year and want to say thanks to all for the wealth of information on here. I have learned a lot of great tips and ideas for keeping my Highboy running well.

My truck is a early 1977 F250 Ranger with HD Dana 44 front, 460 engine (swapped in place of original 400m) C-6, divorced NP205 and Dana 60 rear with Traction Lok. Other than the engine swap, everything is stock and in pretty nice original condition for a 36 year old truck. Truck spent most of its life in Southern Oregon and was imported to BC last year so body is in real nice shape as well.

Just received my new Skyjacker lift kit (2-4") and will be installing it in the next week or two. My truck still sits pretty tall with the stock suspension but one of my rear leaf springs is cracked so she sags a bit on the driver side. Also, the front springs have 7 leafs so somebody must have added a leaf at some point and she rides pretty rough.

I am expecting that the new Skyjacker springs will ride a bit higher and a little smoother that then worn out stockers. Hopefully the 2-4" springs sit okay height wise with the extra weight of the 460 although I don't know that the 460 is that much heavier than the original 400m. Did not want to go too high as I don't want to have to start messing with driveshaft lengths etc.

Before and after pics will be added once I figure out how to post them.

Its the 2" lift.

Did some research and apparently it provides 4" lift on the 77 and a 1/2 to 79 trucks and 2" on the earlier trucks.

Front springs are F724S (2" lift) and rears are FR74S (4" lift). Hopefully the truck sits level when done. They don't seem to list a rear spring with only 2" lift so will have to see how it works out. Rear springs also include lift blocks so I guess I could leave those out if the rear is too high....
