Rich, your Blue f250 has a 4 inch lift correct? Does it have a body lift? If you needed to could you get a 5th wheel trailer on him? Trying to keep options open for this truck , i don't want it too tall for a tow rig, but look good as well.
If I have to do a body lift to make the diesel motor not hit stuff in the engine bay, I may not want too much more lift.

Tires I will use will most likely be the military 37 inch radials.

Ok, I need floor pans. Looked at them tonight before heading out to the grind...

Both of them are bad. Maybe the PO had something between the floor and the carpet, because the floor seemed fine when inside it the other night.... Oh well, no huge issue.

Jeff yes on the 4" front leafs, no on the body lift. It still has PO stacked rear blocks and sets a little taller in the rear. 35"s all the way around with ok clearance in the front and plenty in the rear.

It use to set level till I replaced the worn out front springs and removed the (no no) front blocks, 5th wheel probably not, unless I was going straight only.

Goose neck maybe.... I would want to adjust it to be as tall a goose neck as possible. Flat bed 5th wheel and goose neck NO problem, except Alan hates flat beds. lol

And might not do it if he knows you are putting one on. JK

My Red has 6" new Skyjacker springs all the way around and 35's for now, but I feel that 36's thru 39's would fit. And that test day will come some day.....

IMO if yours is a dedicated tow rig and it sounds like it going to be, I'd go 10 ply 35"s MAX, and a mild lift to clear that with front and rear sway bars and call it good.

Being all lifted and tall with body roll and a lot of tire side wall is not fun in a tow rig. And you need AT not mudders to get better loaded handling and mileage out them. All IMO.

My 0.02 + a buck fifty, keep the change brother.

What ever you do, its going to be a sweet oil burner, brought to life by Alan's magic touch.

BTW you like a TB bed, ck this out....

Where is that bed at?? up North?

RIch, the reason I asked, is because a lot of articles I have read regarding the 7.3 IDI have said that the Body lift was needed to clear the brake booster etc...

I dont want to go too high, I like the look of your Blue truck.

I havent sat down and thought this through yet, and I havent been to bed yet, but if I need the body lift for the diesel, and the springs to correct the mess with blocks in the front end.....where should go with it? 4 inch springs. 3 inch body lift leaves the truck pretty high, maybe higher than I want....and would the Super Duty springs give me the lift Im looking for? I need to see the clearance the 3 inch body lift gives in the engine bay with the IDI, maybe I can get a way with a 2 inch body lift?

Ok im tired,,,,probably sounded goofy or I might have rambled, but thank you all for the help anyway!!!

Yes it was a "fresh in" truck the secret place you all know, not so secret huh? lol

It was right there right before I jacked my back and then got on the road.

Red/white 79 reg cab 2wd with dent and race track chrome, no tailgate or taillights. And a TOOL BOX in the bed. Randy said it was a running and driving truck when it got there.

They drove it off the trailer and pulled the carb, sad....

I honestly didn't use the second tank in my diesel very much, but not to say it isn't very handy to have on long trips. If you want it, we'll get it to work.

When you head north, let me know. I'll ride up with you. Ya' never know what you'll find up there. I actually want to look at the Impala up there in the "old" section and see if has a power brake set up for Tiff's car. ...and I need some black sun visors for Ka'Bluey.

I am sure Alan can get what ever might be in the way as far as the front fire wall out of the way, but the master cylinder and PB booster hmmmm or.

Go with as little body lift as needed to clear, then figure your chassis lift. As far as SD springs more mod work, save some time and Alan sanity and get direct bolt on lift springs.

Another thing. Unless you have a vacuum pump, you'll need to convert to a hydraboost. (diesels don't make vacuum) That in itself will create room around the master cylinder.

Don't know a thing about hydra boost. Do I get that off a parts truck or do I buy it as a kit?

Sure thing on the trip up there Alan. Hope the weather gets better. But when the weather gets better we will be waist deep in mud. I've been there when it was waist deep in mud, you might have been with me. Yep, there was some serious mud out there! Lol

That's a parts truck thing. I don't know if anyone sells a kit. You need the hydraboost unit, the pump and all the hoses.

You would have a better luck to get that from the Springfield PnP, remember they do not have a lot of newer vehicles up there.....

Hydraboost google it first and then advance search it on here under our years....great mod.

Where is the pump and stuff located? I have the diesel chassis right now, and am supposed to get the rest of the body from the extra cab he pulls off. Would it be with or around the booster? or near the frame?

Ok, I read about this some, what type of newer vehicle do I need to look at?

What year it the diesel parts truck you have now? I would guess it would have a hydra boost system and that if would work?
