Norfolknova's 66 F100 Build

Here is my fuel cap behind the taillight. It is tight to get your hand into so I used a push thru cap so I don't have to get my hand in it.
This is the unit out of the truck before I mounted it.
Maybe this will help in your design. The hardest part of this project was getting it mounted. I built all of this in my home garage. I had to cut a hole in the stake pocket and make a cover plate for that to get it mounted. It isn't rocket science, just think about the concept and make it work. I did also make a guide pin for the top to make sure that it would line up properly when I pushed it back in.
The gas cap came from Hagan's Street Rod. Fill Through Gas Cap
Also make sure that you put a ground wire on it. I had problems with my tail and brake lights flickering because I didn't have an extra ground on it.
I also have a 95 Mark VIII 4.6DOHC in my 63. I made all of my wire harness myself if you need some guidance on that part.

Thanks for the pics on your hidden gas cap tail light design. The wiring harness for the engine is actually one of the more straight forward parts of the build. I am using the harness and computer from a 96 Mustang with out the PATS. The hardest part will be mounting the computer, just trying to decide if i want to take up realestate in the cab or build a water tight box that mounts to the inner fender.
One of the questions I have that I have not been able to find a direct answer to is about ABS modules and computers. If they are stand alone type computer systems and only interface with the ECM as far as triggering warning lights, or if they are dependent on the ECM for operation.
Also trying to decide if I want to run a vacuum booster power brake master cylinder out of a Crown Vic or a Hydroboost power brake system from a Mustang. The Hydroboost system will take up less room on the firewall.
Just some things to think about, If anyone has some thoughts on these I would appreciate any input to consider
Thanks
Matt

From the looks of the original intake and the coil packs, your engine must be a 93-95. If it is, those cars did not have pats in the ECM. The coil packs can be converted over to COP.
Did your engine have a variable control relay module?
If it does the ABS runs through the vcrm and the ECM. I deleted all of that stuff so I can't answer very much about them. If you need extra sensors to experiment with, I still have the ones out of my 95 Mark VIII.
I am in the process of building a 63 uni for my son that is getting Jag front and rear suspension with a 5.4 DOHC engine & trans out of a Lincoln Navigator. We are using a hydroboost on this truck out of an 04 Mustang GT.. I used a vacuum booster on my truck but I put it under the floor so it wasn't seen. I think that the hydroboost is going to be better than mine.

My truck is most likely the one you referred to on the Truckin website. I would revisit the rear mounts for the IRS. I do not see a cup for the upper spring mount. You may find during driving that the spring may slide off the side of you mount. Something as short as 1/2" tall and just larger in D than the spring would do it. Welded to the bottom of the mount.

Another thought on the same subject would be a bolt in clip like the original front springs had. You most likely could just use them from the original front suspension.

Once you have the full weight on the suspension you will want to adjust height so that the lower control arms are parallel to the ground. I have 1 1/2" drop springs up front and took out 1/2 coil in the rear. Your bed is heavier than mine so you may be just right out back.
