My point of view is build what you like and are able to get for you build. I have a SBC in my truck and the one I owned in the 80's had a BBC (olds rocket motor). I looked at some that had original motors, Ford motor and GM motors... I wanted to get the best truck I could for the money. Are you building your truck for you or for someone else?

A large percentage bleed blue around here, but there is a significant % of us with other make powerplants. As Moe says build for yourself!

Do it!
I am using an LT1, pretty much the same support system as the LS, I have two LS1s in the corner for when I run out of LT1s. I know very little about Fords and have all GM stuff in stock, so GM stuff gets used in my truck. Love the Ford looks but the hidden stuff is whatever is on the shelf.

They'd lose a lot of us if they banned chevy engines so they just give us a lot of good razing.

I'm in the midst of L92 and 6L80E swap. That's the latest all aluminum 6.2 and 6 speed autobox from escalade / Denali.
Hope to fire it up for the first time within the month.

BTW - I realize this is a ford site. If a coyote motor could be had for $3k with trans! harness and brain I'd have gone that route. Was looking at another +$3k according to my research. I just couldn't justify that for the same power.

"Build what you want" +1

Moe: mmm cookies, the darkside is the side for me. Wayne: ls6? I'd like to ride in that.
Well I certainly thought I would never hear the end of it, But I too find the cost of the 5.0 to be outta reach. when I can get a for ls1 drop out for 3k. Which is what I did and I will shoe horning her in there starting next week. To be honest I'm excited, I would love a couple pics of peoples engine bays.

In 05 I started building Homade and had a wrecked 95 Z28 with LT1 so guess what my little truck is running, it's a great combo with 700R4 and wouldn't change anything. Yes, I get alittle grief sometimes especially when I say it's built Ford tough with Cheby stuff.

The beauty of this country is it is a FREE country and you get to decide. It's your truck do what you want just so you have fun doing it. If anyone (except your better half of course) doesn't like it so what -- tell them to go pound sand. Have fun .
