Oil in Fuel Filter Housing

I have oil in my fuel filter housing. Any tips on how oil could be getting in the fuel system? I removed the filter and it was all oil..

o rings are not to bad to do. just did them on my truck. might as well test the glowplugs while you are in there or just replace all of them if you dont mind the cost also inspect your valve cover gaskets and harnesses for burnt pins.

Depending on the miles on the engine, i would consider REPLACING the injectors. Their life expectancy is 150-200k

yes very true. pop the valve covers and see what they are you might be surprised.

mine had 6 of 8 replaced with the Newer Alliant injectors.

You could also send them away to have them looked at and rebuilt/tested

Thanks to everyone for your help, I was not sure if there was another way for oil to get into the fuel system. I have pulled the injectors and flushing out the fuel galleys and reassembling.I will update all with the out come. Thanks again for the help..

I replaced the injectors and glow plugs about a year ago and the truck ran better then it ever has. So i'm hoping it is just the o-rings.
