Request for 73-79 forum moderators for in house classifieds.

Ok - I just thought I would chime in, as I was the person who came up with the existing classified system.
So let me tell you why it is awesome
I am not sure how many of you were here long enough to remember the old classifieds system, and even if you were here long enough, you probably didn't use it... because not many people did. It was seperate from the forums, and complicated to use.
Even when we changed it then, people didn't like it: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...assifieds.html
Anyhow, about 4 years ago, we spent about 6 months building a new classifieds system based on what we had seen on a bunch of automotive forum sites. I have admin'd over 100 of the largest automotive forums on the web, so we had a fair idea of concepts that worked well on forums, and ones that didn't. Sticky threads don't work, I can give you about 500 reasons why, but the main ones are:
Search-ability
Not consistent information (people always leave out important information, price/location etc.)
Volume - after the first day, don't expect your ad to be seen
Segregation, lots of parts have overlap between generations, so users want to search for stuff easily outside their model years, conversly, even in your model years, lots of parts might not suit (diesel vs. gas superduties for example)
Anyhow, our classifieds are designed to filter the information how you want it (yes I thought about that ), and it may be that you just aren't using it that way. If you are in the parts classified, select the right model range for your truck (see attached image).
This can also be done by links, I am not sure why your forum moderators haven't done this previously, but I setup an announcement that links directly to 73-79 parts and trucks for sale.
I hope that all helps
