Texas Weather.....

80 Degrees Wednesday at 5:00 P.M A spectacular day.

28 Degrees Friday at 5:00 A.M.

17 Degrees predicted for Saturday 5: A.M.

Along with ice, sleet and freezing rain as I type this....snow is just west of us in DFW.

The same thing is happening here in the Old Dominion.

Now, more about Tx.

The Coast Guard and some personal travels have landed me throughout the great State of Texas from the desert to the coast and I must say this with all sincerity, aside from my home State of Maine, I've never felt more comfortable and or more welcome in other state in the union, not even Va.

-31* C up here and -41* with the windchill

Really refreshing. Not in the forecast but where I live a chinook could roll in tomorrow and take it from -31 up to +10-15 depending how strong it is. Thats a huge swing and makes a real mess

It is colder than a well digger's....butt. I don't care where you are.

Power off at my house for 4 hours now. I am the only one that showed up at the office-shop...it still has power. My employees are at home waiting for their power to return. One has been out for 7 hours now. I told him it is nice and warm here.

But at least we are so well prepared for the 3 inches of ice on EVERYTHING...

after all we have THIRTY-FIVE sand trucks for an area of 9,000 square miles with mostly elevated roads serving 6 million people !!!

and not to mention about ten people out of those 6 million know how to drive on ice

Lost power for 14 hours. For the most part, DFW Airport is still iced in. A highway north of here has hundreds of trucks and cars stranded.

Low of -20* last night, but we had a high of 12* today. Actually took the coat off and broke a sweat splitting some firewood, and it got warm enough that I got the Bobcat to start and plowed some snow.

It sure does make you feel alive to work in the cold.
