3rd annual Pismo Beach GTG
#17
I'll be bringing a portable tire inflator this year. The first year I paid to have them aired up, and the second year, Sean aired them up with his on-board compressor. So this year, I will have my own. Not as big as his, but it should do the job, as long as I do not leave it in the back of the F350 which is where it is right now.

I used the compressor to air up the tires on the XJS and it worked fine. Took awhile, but it got the job done. I don't think I will have an issue at the beach, and if for some reason I do, Sean (Wpnaes) will be there with his compressor. Still, it will not hurt to test it before I go down. It is only a few months old, but you never know when something is going to quit on you.

Hello all,
Well, with 2014 being right around the corner that means the 3rd annual Pismo Beach Nor Cal/So Cal gtg is also coming up soon. And rumor has it that we will be breaking from tradition next year, and NOT scheduling it on Super Bowl weekened like we have the last two years. Which incidentally I prefer, because the beach is never packed, and I am not a football fan. Anyway, it is tentatively scheduled for the following weekened which I believe would be 8th/9th, of Feb 2014.
So, if anyone would like to meet some of the So Cal FTE folks, and/or do some light off roading in the sand, make plans to attend. I know Pismo Beach is not close to anyone in the Nor Cal area, so I do understand if nobody wants to travel that far. It is a long drive even for me, and I am the southern most member of the Nor Cal chapter, but if you don't mind the drive, and have nothing else planned that weekend, come on down.
It is $6 a day if you are not going to camp overnight, and $10 if you are. I like to get there around 11am on Saturday, spend all day there, and camp over night, then leave some time Sunday morning. I see no reason to drive 4-5 hours, just to spend 4 hours there, and then have to drive the 4-5 hours back. So, I stay overnight in my Bronco with a sleeping bag for warmth, as it gets pretty cold there at night. I may even bring thermals this time as I seem to remember my legs were cold even with the sleeping bag.
edit: Forgot to mention if you want to do some four wheeling you will need a flag on your vehicle. I have two, an orange one I zip tie to the tailgate mounted spare tire carrier, and an American flag I slip over the radio antenna.

When I started posting, Trey was the last one to post. I took so long to type my post that in the mean time, you had posted.
My post was directed at Trey, regarding the GTG he put together for the SoCal bunch tomorrow.
I edited my post and added his quote for clarity sake.
