Brake LIne Junction Block - '63 F100

Good Day~

I am trying to find a replacement for the brake line junction block (mounted in frame rail under drivers side). Had to cut the old one out and have not been able to get the old lines out of it. Thoughts?

Thanks.

OR
You can use the splitter from just about any rear end. It's the junction where the rubber hose that drops from the frame meets the rear end and splits out to each wheel.
You may or may not need an adapter from brake hose to steel brake line for the hose inlet.

First and Foremost, welcome to FTE!!! If referring to the 'brake proportion valve, suggest first try removing the fittings. If not, rogue 40 post already answered. There is a thread in the FTE 'garage' forum regarding the best penetrating oil, I used Kano Kroil, non synthetic, penetrating oil when the 65 was disassemble, sprayed the part and let set overnight. To shorten a 3 page discussion, it appears the best, as noted in an article on penetrating oil, is a solution of 50/50 AT fluid and Acetone? If decided to go this route, suggest let item soak and then paying close attn. in not damaging the valve thread, may need to re-tap threads before installing replacement lines.

I would be surprised if a FTE member does not have a spare?? Suggest also check FTE classified, possibly member parting one out.

If referring to the proportion valve; imagine already have called local auto parts store, locating a 4 drum valve may be a challenge? Napa has surprised me on occasion in locating a hard to find part; their catalog should also be able to determine if that valve is interchangeable with similar year trucks and/or passenger cars. Finally, here in the pathetic state of Ca. there is a network of salvage yards throughout the state 'pick n pull' where one can go online and find a listing of the location, model, and year vehicle. Anyhow, gave my $.02 worth of advice, and again, welcome to FTE.

K Oil

Thanks for the post. I had researched the penetrating oil thread and picked up some of the Kron Oil. I was working on removing the rust on the proportioning valve with vinegar. Now I can work with the Kron Oil to get the old fittings out of the block. I think it will work since the oil has been extremely useful on other parts so far. I will let you know if it works out. Thanks again.

This truck has no proportioning valve as it is 4-wheel drum. I do have a couple of junction blocks removed from 65, 68, 70 etc.

Thanks Jeff, sorry for mis-info. If unable to salvage the original make sure the replacement is not a proportion valve; although, if salesperson is aware the item is for a 4 drum system there should not be a problem, just make sure the fitting thread count match those of the brake line fittings. Again, if need to replace, suggest the fitting include the bracket. Again, NT sorry for the mis-info.

It Worked!

I saturated the connection points on the brake distribution block. All four connections freed up and the block is very clean inside. The K oil worked its magic. Thanks for the advice!
