Help. I have an 04 F250 6.0L. On the 7th day after being parked in my heated garage it spilled out approx. 6oz of oil overnight. I backed it out of the garage and cleaned the floor. There are no warning lights and only a few drops of oil in the last few days. Could this be the high pressure oil leak that I often here about?

It is not coming from the bottom of the engine or the transmission. appears to be higher up.

 

Could be a lot of things. Take a good look around the turbo. Also look up the back side of the engine from below and see if you can see where its coming from.
Does it start and run OK?
6 oz is a lot, how did you know it was 6 oz?

 

I only estimated the amount of oil. It was about 8 inches around and flowed about 4 foot away. Really hard to know for sure. Starts and runs OK. It appears to be coming from above the starter. I'll try to do a better visual inspection later in the day.

 

The high pressure oil leaks are internal and wont be detected on the outside. They drain back to the pan.

 

How many miles are on this engine? Could be a rear main seal.

 

163K miles. I do have a very small amount of oil near the rear main seal but did not expect to ever see this much oil, especially after setting for 7 days and then leaking out overnight. I just drove it 5 miles and parked it again with a pan to catch the oil. Hoping to see how much. The oil has 3000 miles since last oil change and the leaking oil is very clean.
