223 bell housing motor mounts HELP?

I have 59 style side, short bed with 223 and 3 on the tree. I was having problems with banging on start up. traced it to the bell housing motor mounts. Looked like they were half melted, soft and oozing. I ordered new mounts from Rock auto. Installed them the banging went away, but the mounts are so hard they feel like solid mounts. The vibration is awful at high way speeds and start up. The horn ring and door vibrate a lot.

After research it appears these mounts are really for 1953 ford trucks. I found some other NOS mounts that appear a little different. they are COTT-6068-a part number. Can any one help me with this. is it the correct part number? should I use NOS mounts. will they be hard be cause they are old? If you have experience, with the same problem, let me know what you did to fix it. Thanks

Dennis Carpenter has some of the best rubber stuff.

Here's his top portion of the rear mount: Engine Mount Insulator | Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts

Here is the lower portion: Rear Motor Mount Lower w/ 6 Or 8 Cy | Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts

You will also need a spacer that goes on the bolt that holds it all together. Torque them to spec and you should be good in that area.

By the way, if you don't have a good shop manual and master parts book it would be well worth your bucks to get them. Great resources.

Ebay has them as well as others.

or you can get the paper version which in my view are nicer to look thru but I am old.
