Cold Air Intake

Cold Air Intake
I was wondering: Is there a Cold Air Intake for the Econoline?
I googled a lot but found nothing - or at least nothing for my 89 E150.
I build my own, but it is not perfect.
The Filter has now a dent, where the hood hitted it.
I guess it has a higher flow than stock, but the Position is unideal because up there it probably gets the heat from the radiator.
I want to install some hood scoops.
That might reduce the heat in the engine compartment, but solves not the main problem
Here's what I have in mind
But what I'm trying to figure out is how I relocate the Air Filter.
The best spot would be in front of the brake booster - there's space and a hole in the body behind the grill that would be perfect for an cold air intake.
I found a K&N-Kit for the F150, but would be the F-hoses long enough?
Or even better would be the F150 hoses attached to the stock filter box, but the Box turned 90° with the opening to the front.

The original snorkle was hanging above the battery and it's opening was even smaller than my "half the engine-size" BMW.
So I don't want to let it breathe through a straw again.
I always understood "ram air" as getting charged by the driving airstream.
So that sounds to me that I have to cut a hole in the passengers side fender.
That's a no-go.
And to go through the passengers side grill - there's an auxiliary transmission oil cooler in the way.
And due to german regimentations I want it to look like it's stock or let it easy to be "downgraded".
