I just bought a F350 that came with 20 inch wheels/tires, however the spare is an 18 inch wheel. Dealer tells me that this is normal for the 250s and 350s. They all have the spare 18 inch wheel..this doesn't sound right to me... any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes this is normal. The dealer well save any expense they can so they will put the smallest possible rim on the truck as a spare. The outer diameter of the two tires the 18 and the 20 should be very close
Its fine as long as you dont put the spare on the front axle while the truck is in 4x4 with the front axles locked. Should the front blow out and you need 4x4, rotate a tire to replace it.
