Power steering part

Hi there
I am in Australia and have a rather large problem. My 82 f100 needs another "short sector shaft" for the power steering box...only problem is that there are Zero available here. I don't know if the box in it, is the same as an 82 truck in the US. I'm hoping.

Can I source one from a supplier over there and if so, who? This is a regularly used truck and without this repair I don't have a vehicle!
Thank you

I would doubt they're the same boxes since yours mount on the RH side, correct? What we would call the passenger side?

What piece is the "short sector shaft"? I can see everything but the sector box being used.

Here in the states, the ford ranger used the same steering gear box as the F series trucks. As long as both are twin I-beam/TTB, they interchange. Did you guys get the smaller trucks prior to 98? 97 was the last year either of these were sold here with the TIB/TTB suspension setup.
Just a thought that could open up a few sources for the needed parts.

Just guessing here, but the guts may be the same, the outside casting would definitely be different I suppose, so it could mount to the other frame rail.

I'm thinking everything else will be the same, albeit reversed. Same pitman arm, drag link, and tie rods. Hopefully. So, if we can find out which one he's wanting we can at least post a picture.
