Aftermarket exhaust drone

I did the Y pipe, cat and muffler replacement on my 99' V10, love it but there is some drone in the cab. It's a 3" Dynomax turbo muffler that sounds good, but it's kinda loud and has a lot of drone around town but hardly any at 50-65 and a little at 70mph.

Any ways to reduce this???

Thanks,
Cole

No aftermarket high flow was installed at suggestion of the muffler shop.

Gotha , If you don't want to swap out the muffler ( I went with a flowmaster 70 ) Generally the larger the muffler the less drone you will have. I know some guys put another little baffle type muffler to get rid of the drone..

Yea I wouldn't know which muffler to put inbetween, there is a perfect spot for a resonator or small muffler in front of the dynomax

As mentioned look for a resonator in a 3" variety. Look for a "glasspack" style. This will help scavenge some more of the tones out.
Also if that doesn't help, don't forget about our 90 day Guarantee/Warranty.

I will probably try a resonator as my local shop lets me hear the sound before they weld anything in.

Don't glass packs wear out???

I know my local shop has 3" by 18" long glass packs to try.

ISH on the wearing out part. Since there isn't much fiber in them they tend to pack a bit quicker. You could look to a larger round muffler with more fiber too, but those tend to cost more.
